all you can art
making a home for the dolls <3
I used Fimo clay, because the stations were closed (graduation show)
Used new tools/techinques in the wood station, and loved it!
😱
🧵 I sewed clothes for the dolls 🪡
I tried to make a fabric copy of the dress one of the girls created

She wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up!
I had sooo much fun making this project!
Using glitter, beads, rhinestones really brought out for my inner love for crafting
For interactivity, I decided to create a fairytale story, starring the two girls (under character names).
In this story I let out many blanks, so people could create their own theatre play

REFLECTION:
With the All you can art project I was divided into the Kunstlab group. This meant that I was going to go to a family with children. This was exciting to me, because I would love to make something with/for children, their honest and colourful drawing style is already so beautiful to me.

In the beginning, this project was really advertised as a collaboration project, so naturally, I thought I was going to be in a pair, but my partner chose to not do the AYCA project in the beginning, so I had to work was alone. I didn’t think much of it, but looking back on this project I would’ve loved to work together with someone, for sharing knowledge, skills, and workload.

I went to the family's house with an open mind, not knowing what to expect. I came into an intense family situation and didn’t really know how to handle it myself. The children didn’t want to talk about the artwork and didn’t get why I was there. At first, we drew for a bit, and then we played a bit in the play garden outside, they wanted to play vadertje moedertje with me, and that part of my visit was nice. But the rest was very uncomfortable.

I decided to make the girls a small theatre, because of the little theatre play we did in the playground. For a long time, I’ve been wanting to combine many different materials, and saw my opportunity in this project.

I made little dolls out of modeling clay you can bake in your own oven (since the stations were closed for a bit because of the graduation show), made the framework out of wood, and used a lot of crafting material for the inside of the theatre. As stage lights, I used bike lights and alongside this theatre, I made a fairytale story. This story was with many blanks, which people could fill in themselves, and so create their own story.

I am very happy with how the project turned out. I pushed myself a lot in the making project. I tried out different materials, went to the wood station to construct a theatre on my own, improvised a way for the dolls since there wasn’t enough time to make them in the ceramic station, and had a lot of fun using crafting material making the inside of the theatre. Also making the story with it was something new I could bring into the project. Unfortunately, I couldn’t be at the final exhibition at kunsthal, and don’t know if the family picked up the project, so there is no closure for me here, except for the fact that I am glad about what I made, and hope the girls like it.
